As a level 3 coach I have coached on the Wiltshire performance pathway for over 20 years including every age group from U11 to U17s, as well as supporting the specialist skill set program and EPP sessions in conjunction with Gloucestershire CCC.

Coaching and player development has always been a passion of mine. Providing players with the opportunities and the technical / tactical tools to make the most of their natural talents is a key objective in my coaching, helping them to be successful, but most importantly gain as much enjoyment from the game as they can.

I have over 20 years of experience in Coaching Cricket both at junior and senior level. I am an ECB Level 3 Performance Coach and have been involved with County Age Group Boys & Girls and Senior Women’s Cricket, including the Emerging Player Programme (EPP) across the counties of Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire.

In my recent role I was the Head of Talent Pathway at Cricket East (Bedfordshire & Huntingdonshire). I managed the County Age Group Player Pathway for Boys & Girls (U11-U18) and looked after the Boys EPP and Girls Advanced Player Programme (GAPP). I have worked very closely in partnership with both Northamptonshire CCC and the Sunrisers (Women’s’ Domestic Cricket) in developing players who have the potential to play professional cricket.

I have also Coached abroad in Norway, where I was the Head Coach of the National Teams (Men, Women, Academy U25 and U19s)

Coaching is a huge passion of mine. My philosophy is to help guide, develop and motivate players to realise their potential and believe in their ability. The player journey is all about creating a positive experience through enjoyment, learning and understanding.

Akash Sharma is a highly experienced cricket coach with a BSc in Sports Science and over 17 years of first-team playing experience. A former University 1st XI cricketer, Akash captained Royal Wootton Bassett Cricket Club for four years, leading the side to a WEPL Premier League title and a 4th-place finish in Prem 2.

An ECB Level 2 qualified coach, Akash has been coaching for over six years and is deeply in tune with the modern-day game. He has worked closely with professional strength & conditioning coaches within county cricket, giving him a strong understanding of movement efficiency, biomechanics, and nutrition, and how these elements translate into performance on the field.

Akash has a proven track record of developing young players, with many of those he has coached in recent years now progressing into county pathways. He also works with adult cricketers of all levels, tailoring his coaching to individual needs while combining technical skill, physical preparation, and game awareness.
